FreeRADIUS
FreeRADIUS is a free, open-source product, but NI&S maintains an annual support contract with its developers, NetworkFreeRADIUS. Specifically, we pay for support of Conehead and Grub, the two physical hardware devices that provide out-of-band authentication to network infrastructure.
Since our FreeRADIUS enviroment has been incredibly stable, we've have little need for emergency support. The contract has been more useful to present the NetworkRADIUS team with design and implementation questions, or config/code review.
Our contact for contract renewal with NetworkRadius is Marc Rozier (marc.rozier@networkradius.com).
Clearpass
Clearpass clusters require a bundle of licenses and subscriptions to function. Each of our Clearpass servers includes a Platform license to activate the product, and an Access license that enables the system to authenticate, daily, some losely enforced number of unique endpoints. Licenses are also available for other Clearpass applications such as Onboard and Onguard.
Aruba has permanent, subscription, and evaluation type licenses available. NI&S's appliances have a mix of these, across the cluster tiers.
